The Role of Creativity in Modern Workspace Design
I devised and delivered a cohesive art strategy to bring The Laundry Studios co-working space in London Fields to life, transforming it from a functional environment into an inspiring, visually rich experience. The aim was to create a space that sparked creativity, encouraged connection, and reflected the dynamic energy of the community it serves. Drawing on the industrial character of the building and the creative spirit of East London, I developed a visual language that was bold, expressive, and layered with meaning.
Over several months, I produced 30 original artworks and 4 large-scale paintings that were carefully curated and positioned throughout the space. Each piece was created to resonate with the different moods and energies within the building — from quiet focus zones to collaborative open areas. The artworks function not only as aesthetic interventions but also as narrative touchpoints, helping to establish a sense of identity and cohesion across the environment.
This was about more than decoration — it was about storytelling through art. The result is a space that feels lived-in, creative, and purposeful. By embedding visual art into the fabric of the studio, I helped shape an atmosphere that supports and inspires the creative professionals who work there every day.
